fee was born on june 20th, 2004 in killarney, ireland, where her parents, both originally from osaka, had met while studying abroad. they stayed after graduating and built their careers there, eventually settling into a comfortable and fairly quiet family life.when she was in her mid-teens, her family moved to seoul for work. to her it was presented as a 'normal business decision', but the move felt sudden. fee struggled to adjust as she didn’t speak much korean and found it hard to connect with people at school, which left her feeling isolated. around that time she started the nickname “fee”, hoping that others being able to pronounce her name might make it easier to fit in.not long after the move she began to realize there was more behind this supposed 'business decision'. bits of conversations, things she wasn’t meant to hear and eventually looking into it on her own led her to understand what had actually happened: her parents had been involved in misusing funds connected to a charity project for underprivileged children through the company they were working for. it was never made public and was handled internally, but it was enough to force a change. one that would lead to fee viewing her parents in a different light as well.finding that out didn’t sit well with her. it made it harder to see her parents the same way and being in seoul only made everything feel more distant and it made her feel more alone than ever. after finishing school (2022) she decided to move to osaka, the place she spent most of her vacations and learned more about her roots. and she hoped that being there on her own would help her feel more like herself again, away from everything tied to the move.it didn’t quite work the way she expected and she ended up missing her parents despite all of what's happened. so eventually she returned to seoul, started taking language classes and moved into a small apartment of her own to start building her own life.she's desperate to find something she's passionate about and picks up odd jobs and internships wherever she can, hoping to find something that'll stick or give her some sense of direction. she’s easygoing on the surface and tends to take things as they come, but underneath that she’s very deliberate about doing good where she can. she uses her free time to volunteer and help others, trying to somehow make up for what was done by the parents she'd idolized throughout almost her entire childhood, even if only indirectly or at the expense of herself.
